Jafaria Disaster Management Cell (JDC) is a Welfare and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) commonly known as JDC Welfare Org. JDC was established in 2009 by a number of students, its volunteers composed of members irrespective of their beliefs and political or social background. The name of Ustad Sibte Jaafar Zaidi is recognized as one of the founding and active member of JDC. Rehabilitation activities and medical emergency services by JDC cover all areas of Pakistan with its policy that where there is a victim of any disaster he/she should be helped simply on humanitarian aspect without discrimination. In a year, besides its volunteers, departmental head and president at least two JDC-Ambulance drivers have lost their lives in targeted killing. In 2014 JDC Welfare Org. in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society provided medical aid to some 300 mourners with doctors, paramedical staff and volunteers during a two-day medical camp organized in connection with Ashura at Numaish Chowrangi Karachi. ==JDC as an NGO== Saylani, KKF, Edhi and Chhipa are among some well-known NGOs working in Pakistan, whom the majority of donors like to make a charity contribution. While slighter in reputation, there are some other substantial organizations, like JDC (NGO) working on pure humanitarian grounds. .
